Winter Email Lookbook

Happy (early) St. Nicholas Day! There is no better for an email marketer to celebrate St. Nick than by looking at some inspiring emails. The Holidays are an excellent time to let your inner artist come out.

November through December is the busiest time for online marketers. According to the National Retail Federation Holiday retail sales are steady on the rise:

With that in mind, I’ve collected a couple examples of great Holiday-themed emails to inspire all you email marketers.

GIF’s in email

Moving images or illustrations are an excellent way to get the subscriber to keep on reading your email. A personal favorite of holiday cheer in email is Photojojo. Take a look at the following examples where the entire mail has moving images or where the central point is a GIF:

The two examples below have GIF’s as a tiny element. Although these are only the beginning of the entire newsletter, they already draw you in and entice to read all the details:

Here’s another example from Banana Republic that shows how a simple GIF can make the newsletter very memorable. What’s more, the title is ingenious, taking a Game of Thrones reference and making it work for your campaign is just good reactive marketing:
